Glasgow College scoops International Student Support Award

City of Glasgow College’s International Student Support Team has won the NUS & UKCISA 2016 Award for Excellence in International Student Support in FE. 

The award recognises the exceptional services developed at City of Glasgow College which responds to the needs of international students and the support provided to ensure their most positive student experience while studying in Glasgow. 

City of Glasgow College Student Experience Director Gillian Plunkett said: “This is fantastic news and we are delighted with the win. Our international students continue to benefit from the College team’s energetic and enterprising approach to student support which in turn has a positive impact on the student experience.”

City of Glasgow College is Scotland’s largest further and higher education college with 27,000 students, 1200 staff and a fantastic portfolio of 1700 courses across a wide variety of subjects. Over 1,000 international students study at the College each year from over 130 different countries. 

The 2016 Internationalisation Awards were part of this year’s UKCISA and included around 60 workshops ranging from immigration rules to student experience and staff support.
