Your College needs Your Vote

City of Glasgow College is one of 30 schools and colleges nominated for support funding as part of Scottish Government’s Developing Young Workforce Glasgow (DYW).

The DYW Opportunity Fund aims to encourage and enable businesses and schools within Glasgow to engage with the Scottish Government’s plan to grow industry links with education and encourage the growth of youth employment.

Part of the application process is a public vote and the college needs your help to qualify for the award.

Douglas Morrison, Curriculum Head of STEM Industry Academy, said:

“We are delighted to be nominated for the funding but we do need people to take part and vote online for City of Glasgow College. £7,200 will go a long way to help us deliver targeted STEM development courses for school age (14-18) learners.

“Our Constructing the Future project will use gameplay simulation to help young people develop a range of skills and experiences including construction occupations, entrepreneurship, ethics, financial management, health and safety, sustainability and environmental issues and equality.

“We have developed a short trailer for the simulation game so people can see what it it’s about and why they should vote for City of Glasgow College.”
