Individual Training Account (ITA’s) 

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Individual Training Accounts (ITAs) are for people who are 16 or over, living in Scotland and either in low paid work or actively seeking work. You must have an income of £22,000 a year or less, or be on certain benefits to be eligible to get up to £200 towards the costs of learning or training. 

You can apply for an ITA if you are not undertaking any secondary, further or higher education, SDS funded training or participating in the Community Jobs Scotland programme. 

ITAs are available if you are interested in learning something new or developing an existing skill to support you in work. There is a wide range of courses to choose from and you can study with any ITA approved learning provider, including learning centres, local colleges, universities and private training providers.  To find out more or to apply, visit www.myworldofwork.co.uk

Cancellations made before the course start date will result in a 20% administration charge of the course fee.

Failure to attend the course within 10 days of the course start date will result in an invoice being sent for the full course fee by the Finance Department.  Please contact Finance on 0141 375 5194 or email finance@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk for further information.

Part Time Fee Grant (PTFG)

The PTFG gives help each year towards the cost of your tuition fees.  The level of tuition fee paid will depend on the number of credits you do and the qualification you are studying for.  To check if you are eligible and to apply for the PTFG please visit the SAAS website www.saas.gov.uk or you can call them on 0300 300 3137.  Your application must be with SAAS no later than 6 calendar months after your course start date.  It is the student's responsibility to apply for the funding for each academic year of the course.  

Fee Waivers

After booking and paying your deposit you should have completed a Fee Waiver Application Form at the Finance Dept.  The deposit will be refunded to you when enrolment has taken place. Some courses may require an additional payment for materials.  If you choose to cancel your place the deposit is non-refundable. Company Bookings

If your company is paying the fees you will have received a Company Authorisation Form. This should be completed and returned to finance@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk.  Contact finance if you require a form.

Withdrawals & Refunds

The college charges a non-refundable administration fee of 20% of the course fee should you choose to withdraw from the class before it commences. If you choose to withdraw once a course has commenced, then no refunds are available. Transfers from one course to another course or from one block to the next block for the same course are generally treated as being a withdrawal. For details on the college Refund Policy please contact the Finance Department on 0141 375 5194 or finance@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk  

Cancellations

All classes are subject to sufficient numbers of students enrolling.  We’ll let you know as soon as possible if the course has to be cancelled and we will use your email and telephone details to contact you.  If a class is cancelled your fee will be refunded in full (for more details contact the Finance Department)

Under 16’s

If you have booked a place and are under 16 you should have received a Parent/Guardian Consent Form which you must complete and your parent/guardian must sign and return to studentservices@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk . Contact Student Services if you require a form.

International Students

Any prospective student who hasn’t been resident in an EU country for the last three years will be required to pay course fees at a higher rate, for more details contact the Finance Department.  

Parking 

There is no dedicated parking for students at our City Centre Campus.  There is, however, some limited car parking spaces for those with mobility difficulties (blue badge holders) which are allocated on a first come, first served basis.   There is free street parking after 6 pm and parking is available in Buchanan Galleries at a cost of £1.50 for entry after 5 pm until 11.30 pm.  At our Riverside Campus there are some limited car parking spaces for those with mobility difficulties (blue badge holders) which are allocated on a first come, first served basis. There is free street parking after 6 pm.

Learning Support

If you have a medical condition or difficulty that has implications for your health and safety; or support needs that may need some time to organise and plan e.g. organising a Sign Language Interpreter or Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (for wheelchair users/students with mobility difficulties) then it is important you inform the college as soon as you book your place.
